We have Grant! First of all, thank you to all of you who have lifted us up in prayer over the last week. We prayed about how Grant would receive us and our prayers were answered more than we could ever imagine! It started with a long drive out to the orphanage. Once we arrived, we saw children out playing in the yard and as we walked in the door we saw the familiar bench where Grant was standing in several of the pictures we were given. Shortly after that we were upstairs filling out paperwork, meeting the orphanage director and several of Grant's caregivers. Then, all of a sudden without any warning or fanfare they brought Grant into the room. What an emotional moment. What a wonderful moment! They started by handing him to me (Skip). He cried at first, but within minutes ... literally minutes... he was holding on to both of us as if he had always known us. In fact, one caretaker (who called herself Grant's grandmother) tried to take Grant away from me to give him a goodbye kiss and he screamed and cried. He clung to me and didn't want to be taken away. Later, he did the exact same thing when someone tried to take him from Ashley. What a blessing, he already feels at home! Actually, we understand that when the finality of everything sinks in, there will be more of an adjustment for Grant. Nevertheless, he is very happy and we have had many smiles today. We have posted several pictures here. If you would like to see more, you are welcome to visit www.grantyinanphotos.shutterfly.com.
